We're Moving

Did the title scare you? Sorry, mom is not moving houses. Us dolls are moving places.

Which just about breaks my heart. Why move so close to Josefina's birthday? She won't spend one birthday here! She'll be spending it in a lonely corner in mom's room! Right now we're in mom's parents' room. I wish we didn't have to leave. We're leaving the day after tomorrow, I just can't bear it.

Seeing all our stuff getting packed just about ends my life. I can't take it.

This is where we're moving. It's so empty and lonely. Mom says we'll love it once we get our closets, beds, and furniture moved in! She says she'll even make new things such as lamps and alram clocks for us. She says everything will turn out alright.

Why do humans ALWAYS say things like that?! Mom says she's moved lot's of times in her past, and it was easy for her because she didn't have too many friends back then. Now, she has bunches. Easy for her to say!

This is Molly-Anne's luxury home. Seriously? Why don't we get a home like that? Do we stink or something?

It's not far from us.

I can't believe mom is ruining our lives, right before Josefina's birthday. It just isn't fair, leaving your comfy, cozy home who you met your new sisters in. Mom just doesn't understand! Humans never do!

I took a deep breath. I was an American Girl. AG says that crying doesn't help. I have to be strong. I brushed my hot tears away and tried to make my meanest, toughest looking face I could muster. It didn't help.
Well, maybe a little bit.

I still can't believe we're moving. I mean, right before Josefina's birthday. Mom says that she knows best. For some reason, though, something doesn't click. In the empty, lonely space, I practiced my gymnastics. I had to be tough. I could so do this. I was an AMERICAN GIRL!!

"Toughen up, Molly," I cheered myself. "You're a shooting star! Let your inner star shine!"

Doing my back handspring and adding a little extra flair at the end, I felt strong.
I could so get tough. I could so do this. I'm still me, and God's still good!

~Love,

Molly, Josefina and Cecile

  1. Oh no! I stay on human's bed a lot, and when human moves to another city, we are going to get an epic house. Well, a house good enough for me and my new sisters.

  2. Elizabeth: I know how you feel...When me and mama first moved into mama's house, I had a room faraway from mine now, Then after I got the dolls bed I stayed in mama's little brothers room, Then I was moved beside the dresser, now I am in front of the dresser, To much moving if you ask me!

    1. Really?! That much moving?! WOW! I've only moved from under mom's bed to a Barbie doll house, then under mom's bed again, then another barbie doll house, then on top of a dresser, and then in the doll house AGAIN, until finally we're under mom's desk. And now we're not :( :( Now we're in a li'l old corner in mom's room... :(

  4. Hi Molly! Felicity wants to say something to you so here she is:

    Molly,
I have moved spots SO many times- But I've always stayed in the same room. When I first came here I slept in the Living Room for awhile besides a couch. Then I can't remember where I moved after that. I think It was my mommy's room up against the wall. I slept there with Beth (Bitty Baby) for awhile. Then I moved underneath Mommy's loft bed! That was our room too (cause more of us were getting adopted). Then we moved back up against the wall, against the wall in a corner with our bunk bed and some sleeping on the floor. And then one time just the head part of the bed was up against the wall so it was sticking out in the room- again with more on the floor. I've switched even more times but now I (along with my brothers and sisters) remain under the loft bed as our room. With a 4 high bunk bed, a bunk bed, our Baking Table, Saige's Painting corner, and our laundry machine. I never felt sad though, when I moved. I thought of it as an adventure! Moving to a whole new spot! It's really kinda fun and nice. Especially once you get to know it. Don't worry Molly! Your Mommy is right- Everything is gonna be just fine :)

Hi, Madison! How's Molly doing? It must be hard for her to adjust to her new spot, huh?

    1. Aww, you inspire me so much Felicity!!! I hope I'll LOVE my new home. We haven't quite moved into it yet. Wow, sounds like it WAS an adventure!

Madison: Molly's OK, but she's pretty sad about leaving her home: and right before Josefina's birthday. Cecile and Josefina are thinking of more practical things: Like will we have a door, or where will the closets be, how will we all fit, will we get all the packing done, etc. The move will be delayed because I fell off a scooter today and banged up my knees pretty bad. They hurt so bad, but I think I'll be OK.

    2. Felicity: Thank you, Molly! I'm sure you will!!!

Jaclynn: Aw, poor little thing! I've never moved to any other room, house, or anything! But I know it must be hard for her- leaving a room she's grown to love so much.
Josefina's birthday is on the 20th? That's 3 days after St. Patrick's Day! You know what would be so cute? Don't do a St. Patty's day post on that day- wait til her bday and you can have a St. Patty's Day Birthday Party for her!! That'd be adorable!!
Oh, they're not gonna have a door! It's gonna be a spot not a room! LOLOL! That's cute!
Oh, no! That happened to me once too! Only on one knee though and I had a HUGE band-aid covering my whole knee! Yuck! I hate band-aids! LOL!
      Get better soon!

    3. Madison: Really?! Lemme check the calendar: YOU'RE RIGHT! It IS 3 days after Saint Patricks Day! My dol swill all wear green for Josie's birthday! Woah, a Saint Patty day themed B-day party?! I never would have thought of that! I wish I could, but this year I don't have any decorations of hardly any green things for my dolls. :( But, I do have one thing I will make out of paper mache for her: A PINATA! :D
(Josefina's birthday present form AG came in the mail today......We're doing a special post about it now/soon!)

    4. My sister's Josefina's birthday is on March 19th! How interesting, two Josefinas, with birthdays just one day apart.

    5. Madison: YAY!! How exciting! Hmmm... you should get some green constuction paper and make decorations! Signs, cut strips of it for confetti, or even if you have some money to spare they have tons of St. Patty's day decorations out right now! I bet you could find some cute inexpensive stuff!
A Pinata is a great idea! Now I want to make one! LOLOL!

  5. Natalie: Oh Molly, I know exactly how you feel. When Kaya, Josefina, and I arrived way back in December 2011, our moms shared a room. We had our very own corner that had been readied in expectation for our arrival. We lived there happily for months. That's where we had our first Christmas together, where we first met Kate and Jessica Anne, where Josefina celebrated her birthday on March 19th, and so much else. But one day our moms didn't share a room anymore, and we were all forced to leave. Kaya and I first lived on top of some boxes, then on some other boxes, then on the bookshelf. And then, everyone, including the humans, moved to another house entirely. Now Kaya, our new sister Addy, and I live in a corner, with our tissue box chairs and our boxes as beds. So you see, I've felt the same way.
